Chinese Reflexology
Ear Reflexology
Ear
Reflexology is a fast-growing therapy that, like Hand Reflexology, can
be applied quickly and easily where other forms of reflexology may not
be appropriate.
Ear Reflexology is not a 'trendy' modern therapy. There
is a recorded story from the Egyptians 3000 years ago who treated people
with back pains by using a red hot needle on a point in the ear and the
pain disappeared.
Although in traditional Chinese acupuncture it is based on meridians,
ear reflexology is based on zones and points in the ear which relate to
other parts of the body.
Dr
Paul Nogier of
Leon
is recognising as having a major contribution to mapping the ear
reflexes.
The
ear is seen to conform to the shape of the foetus in the womb. Ears
according to oriental diagnosis are amongst the most revealing and
important to all aspects of the body.
Every ear is unique and no two are alike - they are like fingerprints
and can be read to reveal our inner nature.
Buddha is often depicted with ears round at the top wide at the middle
and long lobes reflecting his strong constitution, love wisdom and
peace. The ears in traditional Chinese medicine are associated with the
kidneys and they are the same size and shape as the kidneys.
The
kidneys reflect our constitutional strength. If you are a good listener
you have good kidneys. The kidneys hold a person's ancestral
inheritance and distribute chi throughout the body. They also reflect
our talents given to us by our ancestors. A person's life unfolds from
his kidneys. Neglect them at your peril.
In
oriental philosophy the ears reveal a person's understanding of life
itself. The ears reveal the constitutional strength of the circulatory,
digestive and nervous systems.
In
China they believe that long thick ears you will have a long healthy
life and by massaging pressure points and examining the texture of the
ear we can detect where the chi is blocked.
Simple pressure can release these blockages and allow the chi to flow
through the organs.
